EML & MSG Viewer

You're all set

Thanks for installing EML & MSG Viewer. Here's how to pin it and open your first email file.

One last step — pin it to your toolbar

1

Open the extensions menu

Click the puzzle-piece icon in the top-right corner of Chrome.

2

Pin EML & MSG Viewer

Find EML & MSG Viewer in the list and click the pin icon next to it, so its icon stays in your toolbar.

3

Open the side panel

Click the EML & MSG Viewer icon in the toolbar. The viewer opens in the side panel, next to the page you're on.

Open your first email

1

Drop a file in

Drag an .eml, .msg or winmail.dat file into the panel, or click Choose files. You can open several files at once — they appear in a list with sender, subject and date.

2

Read it and grab the attachments

Click a message to read it. Click an attachment to preview images, PDF and text files, use the download button to save one, or Download all (.zip) to save them all. Emails attached to emails open with Open.

3

Print or save as PDF

Press Print / PDF (or Ctrl+P). The message opens in a tab with a clean header, and you can choose Save as PDF in the print dialog.

What it does

Open .eml, .msg and winmail.dat

Messages saved from Outlook, Gmail, Thunderbird and Apple Mail — no Outlook or mail account needed.

Attachments and inline images

Pictures show where the sender put them. Preview, download one file or all of them as a .zip.

Any language

Cyrillic, Japanese, Chinese, Korean and European encodings display correctly, even in old messages.

Tracking images blocked

Pictures loaded from the internet stay off until you press Show images, so senders can't see when you opened their email.

Your emails never leave your computer. EML & MSG Viewer reads every file locally in the browser, works offline and never changes the original file.
