One last step — pin it to your toolbar
Open the extensions menu
Click the puzzle-piece icon in the top-right corner of Chrome.
Pin RenTab
Find RenTab in the list and click the pin icon next to it, so its icon stays in your toolbar.
Open RenTab
Click the RenTab icon in the toolbar. A small popup opens where you can rename your current tab.
Rename your first tab
Choose a page
Open the web page you want to label, then click the RenTab icon in your toolbar.
Give it a clear name
Type a short name in the Tab title field, such as “Project notes”, “Client invoice” or “Read later”.
Save your title
Click Save or press Enter. Your new title appears on the tab and is reapplied after a page reload. Click Remove to restore the original title.
What it does
Rename any web page
Replace a generic tab title with a useful name. You can also set or remove titles by right-clicking the RenTab toolbar icon.
Search your saved titles
Open History to search saved names and URLs. Click an entry to reopen the page, or delete entries you no longer need.
Optional Chrome Sync
Turn on Chrome Sync in Settings to sync your saved titles across devices using your Chrome account.
Back up and restore
Use Export JSON in Settings to save a backup. Import JSON lets you bring your saved data back into RenTab.
Stored locally by default. Your saved titles and history stay in your browser. If you enable Chrome Sync in Settings, your titles are stored using Chrome’s sync service so you can use them on other devices. Some protected browser pages cannot display a custom title.
